Dear colleagues,
It’s our great honor to invite you to attend the 5th Annual Peking University School of Life Science Symposium (PKU Bio Net Symposium) at San Diego on the 20th of July, 2013.
PKU Bio Net Symposium is a major platform to discuss research and innovation, science and education policy, and career path perspectives in life science-related field. Since 2009, about 200 attendees benefit from guest speakers who are the experts in their respective academic or industry fields.
The hosting 99 class graduates have witnessed multiple challenges in life science over the past decade. Pandemics such as SARS and H1N1 flu have threatened human lives across the world. Incidence of chronic disease such as cancer has been on a steady rise in China and other developing nations. In the mean time, rapid social-economic development and an aging population require efficient, yet delicate, reform of health care systems to benefit more people. We organizers believe these global challenges will require enormous talent in life sciences such as research, drug development, regulatory affairs, intellectual property laws, pharmacoeconomics, health care policy, and so on.
San Diego is a hot bed of the above-mentioned sectors in life science. Many top-notch universities, research centers, pharmaceutical and biotech companies are thriving in this beautiful Southern California coast city. We hope this meeting will stimulate fruitful discussions about research and career in life science related sector, and extend your friendship with fellow alumni. We look forward to meeting you here this July!
